Sumo Wrestlers

My firm had a BBQ on Sunday with a very interesting activity...Sumo wrestling suits. The kids thought this was the greatest thing ever, they were laughing so hard they could barely breath.

Unfortunately Luke couldn't stand on his feet long enough for me to get many pictures :-)
Our little guys could only get half of the suit on but some of the bigger kids donned the whole thing & went for it. We were hoping to get two of the partners to spar but no luck...

Congratulations Daddy!

Sunday Mike did a 25 mile bike ride in support of brain tumors. It was a long ride but he made it look easy! We met him in Los Altos at the halfway point...

Congratulations Daddy!
On another sports-related note...Madison is required to wear athletic shoes with laces for P.E. so we had to say goodbye to our trusty Velcro. She was so excited about her new shoes that she woke up early the next morning & immediately put them on. Because Mommy was still sleeping & she has not yet learned to tie her shoes she improvised. It's a little hard to tell from this picture but she wove the laces in & out of each other until they were secure. A nightmare to undo but quick thinking Maddie Moe! We love the independence :-)

On a NON-athletic note. Luke was looking for some privacy to play his video game...I wonder if he thought we couldn't see him :-)

Luke's 1st Day of School!

Yesterday our little Luke-man had his 1st day of a new school year! They changed the classes around a bit this year but luckily he still has his friend, Jack & is in the same room. We weren't surprised that it was a super easy transition...

Mommy & Daddy had a harder time saying goodbye than Luke did :-)

Eyes In!

Out little Luke has always loved the pool but hasn't really enjoyed swimming. It has been a battle this entire Summer to get him to submerge his face in the water. Of course at his last session of the season he was all about "eyes in"! His teacher Matt & I were joking that for the past 2 years he's made a major break through on the last day. My work schedule is crazy for the month of September but I think I'm going to re-enroll Luke in October to see if we can't keep his enthusiasm alive. I don't care if he has the passion that Madison has, I just want my little guy water safe! :-)

Kindergarten!

Watch out Kindergarten...here comes Madison! Maddie has been an official Kindergartner for about 2 weeks now & she is very excited about it. She has so much to say everyday after school & takes her nightly homework assignment very seriously. She receives a daily "Character Counts" behavior report & has yet to receives anything less than "Good" & has even received a couple of "Magnificent"! We are super proud of our little girl :-)

First day

Poor Luke-man had to wait until after Labor Day for his first day but he was gracious enough to pose with his sister...

Happy girl, glad to be back at Saint Andrew's

Off to the Welcome Chapel

August

Well, I've been VERY bad about posting pictures this month. Apologies to Maddie, Luke & their memory books. School started & the kids have been loving it! Here are a few pictures of our last days of August...

Conor & Luke at our final dinner with the Laffertys before they went back to Rome
Our last dinner with the Laffertys was also a celebration of Ceara's 15th birthday. Lookout fellow drivers...here she comes!

Maddie started school on the 25th & on the days I work, Mike picks her up & takes her back to the office with him. Here she is cruising around Netflix on the cart that Daddy was using to move computer equipment...

On August 7th we celebrated the wedding of our adorable friends, Erin & Ryan...congratulations Dr. & Mrs. Wilgus!

Dinner @ Bagga & Grandpa Silly's...Moe & her best friend, Greta.

Our "cousins" the Carter Triplets (Aunt Jill's nephews) were here from Philadelphia. Gigou & Jerry hosted a BBQ & we were able to see them before they headed to Tahoe for a vacation. Madison & Francie Heffernan were BFFs for the night...

They fell to the ground immediately after this picture was taken

That's about it for August. On to the new school year!
