Happy Halloween!

By the time we made it to Halloween, Madison was so sick & tired of her costume that she refused to put on her skirt & wings. Luke was over the whole thing too. All they wanted to do was play with their friend, Paige. Here are the only half-way decent pictures I could get...(unfortunately none of Luke :-(

Are you sure we are done trick-or-treating?

Let's go home!

Costume Parade

Take 2...For those of you who have subscribed to updates, I apologize. I published this post before I had finished uploading photos. Here is the complete version...

Today Madison's preschool had a Halloween parade! It was completely insane...kids, costumes, parents & teachers everywhere! Too cute. They proceeded around the perimeter of the church, stopping at the church office & senior center to trick-or-treat. Madison brought up the rear of the trek through the senior center & thrilled everyone there with big waves & "hi-lloooo's" :-)

Trunk or Treat

Tonight, the church that Madison's preschool is affiliated with hosted a Halloween party called "Trunk or Treat." In the parking lot of the church there were a dozen or so cars that were decorated for Halloween. The kids went from trunk to trunk to trick or treat. They also had a little craft room which we hit before we went for the candy...

Madison & Bagga Judy adding feathers & rhinestones to her foam sunglasses (Bagga Judy & Gompa Silly came with us...aka Jenn's parents, Rich & Jude.)

"Cheese" Mommy!

Luke enjoying his foam glasses as well. No rhinestones for you buddy! Poor guy, there wasn't much to do for pre-walkers.

The finished product!

Madison's first experience trick-or-treating. She didn't know what the treats were for as she's never had candy! We told her they were for Mommy & Daddy. That ruse won't last too much longer :-)

Pumpkin Decorating Party

Friday, Madison & Luke attended their first pumpkin decorating party! Our new friends, Brigit & Elizabeth (from our playgroup) hosted a pumpkin decorating party. There were 20+ kids there. It was pure chaos & so much fun! Madison was mostly interested in coloring on the construction paper & not so much the pumpkins. Luke grabbed a hold of a paint brush & wouldn't let go...leaving a trail of brown in his path. Luckily everything was washable! Here are a couple of pictures...

Madison & Nicholas (Nicholas is in Madison's preschool class & we didn't even know he would be here! It was so great running into Nick, his mommy Amy & his little brother Will :-)

Fashion Sense

Madison's new favorite thing is choosing her own clothes. Usually she lands on her Grace Preschool t-shirt with her striped yoga pants & her Crocs (we've worn this outfit for a week now). But today she decided on her boots & the 2 hair clips that say "Madison" on them :-) Thank goodness Mommy added a skirt & top or we may have been kicked out of story time at the Los Gatos library :-)

Not to be outdone...Luke in his "emergency services" jammies :-)

Fun Family Sunday

Madison & Luke had a fun-filled Sunday with their family. "Bagga" Glen came over for a visit (which is always a huge hit with the kids :-) Aunt Jill & Uncle Jason were visiting for Jason's 5-year college reunion at Stanford. They spent the afternoon with us & then we all went over to Grandpa Silly & Grandma's house for a spaghetti dinner. Here are some cute pictures...

Dinner at the Sakai's

Last night Maddie & Luke had dinner at their friends Kevin & Heather's house (Mommy & Daddy were invited too). The Florio's were there too...we had such a great time! The future-Sakai's (they are getting married next month...YAY!) have the sweetest dog Larry. Madison & Paige were all over him. Luke-man was just cruising the scene checking everything out. Here are some pics...

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Madison had her first field trip yesterday! We went to Uesugi Farms in Morgan Hill with Madison's preschool class to visit the pumpkin patch, learn how pumpkins grow & ride the train. It was such a great time! I had a hard time dragging the kids away :-) There is a link to all of the pictures on the left of the blog. Here are a few highlights...

The Results Are In

Luke had his one year doctor's appointment & the results are in...
31-3/4" tall (95th percentile)
24 lbs. 13oz. (85th percentile)
18-7/8" head circumference (90th percentile)
He's slimming down! This is the first time that he has ever measured on the charts! Until now he has always blown the curve :-)
